Steve Jobs Quotes: Steven Paul Jobs, popularly known as Steve Jobs is a name that has played the most vital role in making Apple Inc what it is today. He was the co-founder and CEO of Apple and Pixar. He was born in San Francisco, California to Joanne Schieble and Abdul Fattah Jandali. His biological parents were unwed and put him for adoption.
He was then adopted by a lower-middle-class couple, Paul and Clara Jobs. He grew up in a neighborhood of engineers working on electronics. This made him interested in the field as he grew up. He was enrolled in Reed College in Oregon. He only attended one semester there and dropped out because of his interest in eastern philosophy, fruitarian diets, and LSD.
After a few months, he returned to California to look for a job. He worked at the young video game maker Atari and visited India with his friend using the money he earned by working in Atari. After coming back, he started taking interest in the activities of one of his friends Stephen Wozniak, who he met back at his home when he was 13. Stephen Wozniak, popularly known as Woz had been attending the meetings of a group of early hobbyists called the Homebrew Computer Club. The knowledge that he gained in these meetings helped him build his own computer board.
Steve Jobs took interest in this and he knew that this invention could be sold to software hobbyists. So he convinced Woz to start a company and they named it Apple Computer, it was born on April 1, 1976.
They created Apple I computers and sold so many computers to independent computer dealers. They further worked on a new better version of the computer and named it Apple II which was a powerful and expandable system with color graphic support.
They both knew deep down that it could be very successful so they started seeking investment and convinced Mike Markkula to invest $250,000 in Apple, in January 1977, Mike was the former executive of Intel running his own venture then.
By the time, Apple got huge success and the investors decided to go public. The IPO took place in December 1980 and Jobs’s net worth increased to over $200 million at the age of 25. Apple did not look back after that, better versions of the devices were launched every now and then which contributed to Apple’s booming success. In 1986, Jobs bought the small group of scientists and incorporated it as Pixar.
