Bob Marley is one of the most iconic artists in the history of music. Born on 6 February in Jamaica Robert Nesta Bob Marley commonly known as Bob Marley became one of the most widely acclaimed singers, songwriters, musicians,s, and guitarists of all times. He started his music career as part of a band caller The Wailers in the year 1963.
His unique vocal style spread like wildfire and became quite a sensation among the audience all around the world. His solo career didn’t begin until the year 1974 which was the year The Wailers disbanded. Bob Marley moved from Jamaica and relocated himself to England. This is where his solo career took off and he became one of the most popular musicians in the history of the music industry.
His album Exodus which was released in the year 1977 became a worldwide sensation and with this album, he became the world’s best-selling artist of all time with a record sale of 75 million copies. Not only was the album best-seller but also it remained on the British album charts for a whooping consecutive fifty-six weeks which was unbelievable.
In the year 1978, he released another album Kaya which also has many hit singles that topped many billboard charts. He married Alpharita Constantia Anderson in Kingston, Jamaica in the year 1966.
He died at the young age of 36 because of malignant melanoma in 1981. In 1980 after his album Uprising was released he went on a European tour which was the last tour as in the middle of the tour his condition deteriorated because of a type of malignant melanoma under his toenail.
The remaining tour was canceled and he was admitted to hospital where he went under treatment but even after the long fight with the disease he ultimately succumbed to his cancer in 1981.
